I am delighted to offer these words of celebration on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Cameroon.
Over the last 60 years there have been constructive and continuous advances in the ties of friendship and cooperation between our two countries to our mutual benefit.
The momentum for bilateral exchanges and cooperation in the political field has been consistently maintained. And forms of cooperation encompassing a range of realms have been discussed through dialogues such as the policy consultations between the two foreign ministries. Moreover, the 10th edition of the Korea-Cameroon Economic-Energy Cooperation Forum, the official bilateral channel in the domain of the economy, is scheduled to be held this year.
Furthermore, the two countries, cooperating in the process of countering the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, are expanding the scope of cooperation in the development cooperation and health fields.
I believe that Cameroon, as a key country in the central African region, as well as a core member of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), has tremendous potential for growth. In particular, I look forward to Cameroon achieving greater integration and prosperity through the realization of its strategy to become an emerging nation, 『Vision 2035』.
Cameroon and Korea celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations in 2021.
On this happy occasion, permit me first of all, to extend my cordial and sincere congratulations to you, and secondly, to salute the multifaceted and promising cooperation existing between our two countries, to the benefit of each of our two people.
Finally, I would like to wish for the expansion of the scope of this cooperation, thanks to the common will and under the visionary leadership of Their Excellencies Paul BIYA and Moon Jae-in.
Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.
